Successful With AdSense

Google launched it's AdSense revenue network on June 18, 2003. Today you don't have to look very far to find a website that is supported by this program. Though Yahoo's Publisher Network (YPN), AdBrite and Chikita, offer alternatives to AdSense, Google is by far the leader in delivering relevant ads that give the average person an opportunity to generate a passive income that may far exceed their expectations.

To build a successful AdSense supported website it will require a strong initial effort. You will need to:
1) find a niche;
2) build a website;
3) develop an AdSense ad strategy; and
4) drive traffic.

After you have invested sufficient time with each of these elements, you can scale back your time commitment to answering email.

Find Your Niche
Have you ever searched for a product, and found that none of them offered the quality you wanted. If you have, you have discovered a niche. If you can create a better product, and enough people want it, you may be well on your way to building a successful business.

Build a Website
Your next step is to build a website. Think of your website as a clothing outfit. Would you dress your new product in something from "The House of Tacky" or in an Armani tux? Put this way, it seems like a silly question, but people are launching new websites everyday, and dressing their product in "tacky". Be unique, and dress sharp. If you do, your website may just sell your product for you.

Develop an AdSense Ad Strategy
Developing an ad strategy may make the different between $1,000 a month and $3,000 a month. Every website is designed a little differently, and many strategies will not work consistently from website to website. The few that remain the same include blending the colors of the ads with the colors of your website, placing an ad unit just under the title, and placing an ad just after the content. The best ad unit by far is the medium rectangle.

Drive Traffic
Even if your product is the best product, your business will still fail if you are not devoted to marketing it. Many free resources exist for website marketing. Experiment with several until you find the ones that work the best. Then be persistent. Be as devoted to marketing as you are to creating new content for your website. You will soon be rewarded for you effort.

What is Google AdSense and is it Right For You?

Many people who are beginners in Internet Marketing often have the problem of deciding what niche to focus on. A very popular niche is Google Adsense. But what exactly is google Google AdSense?

I like to think of it this way and use the television industry as a model for Google AdSense. The very successful shows on TV make a fortune in advertising. For example the show "Friends", which was one of the most successful TV shows in history, raked in vast sums of money for the show's creators. The actual show itself did not generate the cash, it was the advertising within the show that created the money.

This is the same with Google AdSense. Think of your website as the TV show and Google AdSense as the adverts that run through it. Advertisers who want to place ads appropriate for your website can do so through AdSense. The good news here is advertises can laser focus their adverts. Using the TV show example advertisers can typically get a good feel for the demographics of people watching the show, but they have no idea if you are shopping for a new car a vacation or a new smart phone.

With AdSense they can be very targeted with their advertising. For example if you are looking to sell sleeping bags you can target your ads to only appear on web sites that are specific to the subject, in this case sleeping bags. This allows the advertisers to get a much better Return On Investment (ROI).

So how do you actually make money through Google AdSense? The way the business model works is the advertisers' pay Google some money in each time one of their adverts is clicked - this is why this is often refer to as Pay-Per-Click (PPC). If the advert is on your site Google will give you a slice of the money.

So to be successful in this business model you will need at a set of sites that generate a good amount of traffic. You can then place AdSense ads on your site and you'll be rewarded every time somebody clicks on one of the ads.
